Mr Dawson is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the ECI Group. He has extensive experience in management & related disciplines, having held Board and senior executive positions in a number of leading Australian and international private and public listed companies over the course of some 35 years. A former director of the Australian Design Council, he has also worked as an international management consultant for companies operating in the transport, logistics and renewable energy sectors, has operated his own boutique investment banking venture, and practiced in the field of commercial law for several Australian legal firms.
Mr Dawson is a graduate of both the University of Western Australia and the Curtin University of Technology with separate Bachelor Degrees in Business and in Law. In addition, he has undertaken studies at MBA level. He is a past member of the Australian Institute of Management, the Law Society of Western Australia, the Institute of Company Directors (UK), and the Australian Institute of Industrial Engineers.
Mathew Van Riessen, ECI GroupMr Van Riessen qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984, after commencing in the profession in 1979 and working for a national accounting firm. He became a partner of Mack & Co in 1989. Recently aligned with the PKF Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers network, PKF Mack & Co is a mid-tier independent WA based firm with national and international affiliations. The full service firm has a wide spectrum of clients operating in a range of industries, including: stockbroking, mining exploration, oil and gas production, engineering, construction and manufacturing.
Mr Van Riessen specialises in business consulting, where his focus is on providing financial advice and comprehensive business solutions. Since 1999, he has been an authorised representative of Count Financial Limited, the holder of an Australian Financial Services License and, in that capacity, through the member firm Mack Financial Services Pty Ltd, provides financial advice – mainly in the area of investment.
Mr Van Riessen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
Frank Johnson, ECI GroupMr Johnson brings to the Board a depth of experience in the disciplines of mechanical and electrical engineering; project management (manufacturing, transport and mining); software engineering for high end applications in the industrial (e.g. integrated process control systems) and financial (e.g. mathematical modelling & statistical support) trading sectors; technology research; and corporate strategic advisory services – gained over a period in excess of 25 years worked in the Australian and international arenas. He is the creator/publisher of PCSafe (military level information security software for financial institutions) and the author of OptionScape (introducing a suite of high frequency financial trading robot software). Mr Johnson is the Chairman of both OptionScape USA Inc. and the Wingstar Group.
In Hungary, Mr Johnson attended the Kandó Technical College of Electricity (Power generation & Distribution, Control Systems) and the ELTE University of Science (Mathematics, Physics, IT). In Australia, he undertook studies in Mechanical Engineering at TAFE and Accounting, Finance & ICT at the University of Notre Dame.
Mr Johnson is a Board member of the Australian Hungarian Chamber of Commerce, a member of the American Hungarian Executive Circle, an inaugural member of the Options Alliance (Chicago), and an accredited member of the Australian Computer Society. He is fluent in English, Hungarian, German and basic Russian.

Adirek Khiuchaiyaphum (Adi Khiu): Chief Technology Officer, ECI GroupMr Khiu is Chief Technology Officer for the ECI Group, and Managing Director of ECIT. Born & educated in Singapore, Mr Khiu undertook post-graduate studies in chemical engineering. He has served in a research & development capacity as a key member of project teams for various biodiesel industry concerns, including Thailand`s first and largest biodiesel manufacturer/refinery GPX Biofuel Ltd Part (formerly, Palmola Co ltd), Agrico Ltd Part, and Bang Chak Public Limited. He also worked with Professor Vishy Karri in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tasmania. Mr Khiu is fluent in English, Thai, Mandarin & Malay. He has lived in Thailand for the past 8 years.
Over 2007 & 2008, Mr Khiu was a part owner of JAS Co Ltd, and developed a 3 ton thermal pyrolysis prototype plant (for the recovery of diesel from waste engine oil) on behalf of a Singapore consortium. He formed G2 Petroleum & Technology Co., Ltd in 2009, with a focus on renewable energy refining via the development of commercial waste to fuel systems. Under his leadership, the R&D team developed a process and system to convert low cost raw materials (in the form of waste rubber tires, waste plastics & heavy petroleum residues) from landfill and other sources, utilizing pyrolysis and gasification technology, to produce transport grade diesel, gasoline, industrial (bunker) fuel & LPG (natural gas). In addition, G2 engineers have developed a method which blends residues of fuel oil, water & pulverized coal to yield emulsified fuel oil for use in elect generators & burners.
Sunya Boonyasuwat: Process Engineering Consultant, ECI GroupMr Boonyasuwat is the principal of Verasuwan Co., Ltd., a Thai based petro-chemical refinery group.
He holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering has worked on Biofuel Research projects with Dr Resasco at the University of Oklahoma School of Chemical, Biological & Metals Engineering, and is credited with a number of publications.
Somchai Nilpruk: Engineering & Technical Services Consultant, ECI GroupMr Nilpruk is an extremely experienced project engineer, having worked in design and construction for blue-chip companies operating in the petroleum refinery and power generation industries. These include: PTT Group member entities (collectively comprising the biggest petroleum group in Thailand and the largest public company listed on the Thai stock exchange); Bangkok Renewable Energy Co., Ltd.; Toshiba Plant System & Services Corporation; and the Italian-Thai Development Public Co. Limited.
Mr Nilpruk is based in Bangkok, and has previously been a consultant to the ECIT predecessor, G2 Petroleum & Technology Co., Ltd. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mahanakorn University of Technology.
Nuntisak Hongsbhanich: Commercial Manager, Asia-Pacific Region, ECI GroupMr Hongsbhanich is an English speaking Thai who is based in Bangkok. He has held positions as International Business Manager, SE Asian Regional Manager, and Export Manager for various companies operating in the international agricultural-chemical sector. His role with ECI is to facilitate and support our push into markets of interest.
Mr Hongsbhanich holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science from Chiang Mai University, a post graduate qualification in Agricultural Science from Melbourne University, and a Master`s Degree in Agri-Science from Kasetsart University in Bangkok. He has produced a number of reports and articles included in scientific publications, and delivered presentations at a number of international conferences.
Mr Siricharoensombat was a part owner of G2, responsible for all operational and related business matters. He now undertakes a similar role for ECI (Thailand). In such a capacity he has overseen the manufacture, installation and commissioning of ECI pyrolysis conversion systems for a number of third party industrial clients and, in line with such, also supervised the conduct of operator training programs.
Mr Siricharoensombat, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business studies (Management & Accounting) and an Advanced Diploma in Electronics, has compiled and trained a dedicated team and overseen the roll-out of both ECI owner-operator and joint venture project initiatives - which include our Zero Waste System and a rapidly expanding involvement across a broad spectrum of the renewable energy value chain.
Note: Whilst the focus of our attention is currently directed toward maximizing those opportunities which present in Thailand and its near neighbor S.E. Asian markets and, given the on-going contribution from Mr Siricharoensombat, ECI have opted to forgo the creation of a Chief Operating Officer position within the corporate executive, for the time being at least.
Prem Premthavorn: Business Development ManagerMr Premthavorn has recently joined the team at ECIT, in the capacity as Business Development Manager. His appointment is in response to both the growing level of interest from local government and private sector parties in our range of zero waste and renewable energy technology offerings and in line with strategic initiatives centered around the future establishment of large scale project deliverables.
Mr Premthavorn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Financial Management & Administration) from Khon Kaen University in northeast Thailand, and has previously gained considerable hands-on experience in senior management positions with his family owned business involved in the fields of construction and agriculture sector related activities.
Kanrave Siricharoensombat: Manager, Finance & AdministrationMrs Siricharoensombat is responsible for all finance and administration related activities undertaken by the Thai office of ECI.
She brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in a senior accounting capacity for a number of mid-sized firms. Mrs Siricharoensombat has formal accounting qualifications and a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting & Management).
The scope of activities, an operational presence in the SE Asian arena, and a growth oriented strategic focus collectively support the creation of an Advisory Board comprising highly credentialed members drawn from the fields of environmental science, chemical and process engineering.
Professor Weerachai ArjharnDr Arjharn is the Associate Professor of Alternative Energy at Suranaree University of Technology in Thailand, and Director of the university`s prestigious Centre of Excellence in Biomass.
Professor Martin BowmanMr Bowman is an Australian academic, businessman and environmental science consultant. He is Adjunct Professor of Environmental Science at Murdoch University, Western Australia. He is also the Principal of Bowman & Partners Environmental.
